5 Coaching Sessions $550
Construct a compelling, engaging, and succinct personal statement for college application essays. Receive individualized coaching and feedback throughout the application process. Each writing tutoring session is an hour. More sessions are available for purchase for each essay. Pricing includes face time in session as well as time needed to read and provide written feedback in between sessions and email correspondence between sessions.
Session 1: Brainstorm and Research
Understanding the prompt, generating ideas, outlining the structure of a personal statement. Student leaves session with a personalized writing plan and begins first draft on their own. Submits essay for individualized written feedback which will be discussed in Session 2.
Session 2 and 3: Revision
Student reads through commentary and reviews strategies for revision with Jaclyn, focusing on organization and content. Portions of the esssay are workshopped. Student revises remainder of essay using individualized feedback on their own. Student submits essay for further review.
Session 4: Editing
Once the organization and content are revised, student reviews essay for spelling, mechanics, punctuation, and clarity of sentence structure. Student refines essay with Jaclyn, then continues the editing process on their own.
Session 5: Final Review for Submission
Student and Jaclyn review final draft of the essay and discuss any changes. Jaclyn and student prepare for submission.
